9th October 2025, George Town, Penang
- As part of the agreement, Toling Corporation becomes Polymateria’s exclusive distributor in Malaysia.
- The agreement will see Polymateria’s Biotransformation technology rolled out widely across Malaysia, through Toling Corp’s unrivalled network.

At a ceremony attended by over 50 representatives from industry and civil society, Toling Corp and Polymateria today (9th October 2025) entered into a strategic partnership agreement (the Agreement). The Agreement, signed by Toling Corp’s General Manager Kathy Heng & Polymateria’s CEO Richard Horne, will see Toling Corp become Polymateria’s exclusive distributor in Malaysia, accelerating the rollout of the company’s Biotransformation technology.
Also in attendance was Penang Green Council (PGC)’s General Manager Josephin Tan and Malaysian Plastic Manufacturer (MPMA) Northern Branch’s Treasurer Mr Travis Tan, who came to witness and support this strategic partnership which empowers the plastic industry towards becoming more sustainable and minimizing environmental impact.
Plastics are an important part of everyone’s daily lives, but the mismanagement of single-use plastics and the resulting impact on the environment is one of the leading global environment challenges. According to the Malaysian’s Government’s Plastic Sustainability Roadmap (2021), 63% of plastic wastes in Malaysia are not recycled or disposed of in proper facilities.
Polymateria’s technology provides an antidote. Its Biotransformation process enables plastic items that escape into the environment to fully biodegrade within two years, leaving no microplastics or toxic residues behind.
Products with this technology are already widely available and being utilised in Malaysia by household names such as ZUS Coffee, Dunkin’ Donuts and Kopi Kenangan. The products are certified by SIRIM under its ECO 098:2023 Ecolabel.
Through this Agreement, Toling Corp’s advanced network within the industry will be used to bring Polymateria’s technology widely to the market across all parts of Malaysia. It is another major step towards more sustainable plastics in Malaysia, a transition which Toling Corp is proud to be part of.
Commenting on the partnership for Toling Corp, General Manager Kathy Heng said:
“This strategic partnership with Polymateria is a huge step forward in our efforts to drive sustainability within the plastic industry. Polymateria’s technology is one of the most exciting innovations that we are proud to introduce to our network of plastic manufacturers across Malaysia, which offers them a cost-effective solution for producing sustainable products with wide applications.”
Polymateria CEO Richard Horne added:
“I am delighted to sign this strategic partnership agreement with Toling Corporation today. By appointing Toling as our exclusive distributor in Malaysia, we will magnify our impact across the country leading to continued rapid rollout of our technology. I am excited to see the positive impact that this partnership has on tackling plastic pollution in Malaysia.”
